Offering therapeutic, body-work in the
heart of downtown Milwaukie
Hello! My name is Vanessa and I'm happy to see you here. A former native to Vancouver, British Columbia, I received my education at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy where I graduated from my program in 2014.
I have had a longstanding curiosity about the inner workings of the human body and how every system informs every other system in a complex, multi-dimensional loop. This fascination historically translated into an exploration of yoga, dance and various forms of exercise.
I focus my massage therapy work around the principles of creating space, and promoting unrestricted movement. My mission is to change the way your tissues operate, allowing greater synergy between the nervous system and the soft tissues of the body.
With this in mind, the body-work I offer leans into depthful, movement-based, and therapeutic techniques.
I will gladly work with you to rehabilitate injuries, restore healthy movement-patterns, and maintain your body so that it is operating functionally. I am honored to be part of your life-long journey of restoring and maintaining bodily health.
When I'm not in the studio, I can most often be found hiking local trails or engaging in movement-based practices.
Ashiatsu
The therapist uses bare feet, oil/lotion, body weight, gravity and overhead support to apply broad, deep, sweeping strokes with consistent pressure which may create structural changes to soft tissue as well as calming down the nervous system.
Deep Therapeutic Massage
Deep tissue massage targets muscle, connective and fascial tissue to realign and improve range of motion, release chronic patterns of tension and help heal injuries. To achieve these results the therapist may utilize a variety of techniques, including: Ashiatsu, Facilitated stretching, Trigger point therapy, Myofascial Release, Cupping and Guasha.
Relaxation Massage
The therapist may incorporate light Ashiatsu, as well as traditional Swedish techniques to achieve gentle, intentional pressure, and smooth gliding strokes to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension and encourage other health benefits.
Hot Stone Medley
This treatment is a fusion of Hot Stones and therapeutic bodywork. Heated stones are applied to lubricated tissue and may be placed or incorporated into Swedish massage techniques to promote circulation, relieve muscle tension and encourage relaxation. If you’re looking for a full-bodied hot stone treatment, then you’ve come to the right place.

Hot Stones
A limited number of heated stones are used to target specific areas of tissue to promote circulation, relieve muscle tension and encourage relaxation. Please note: if you are looking for a full- body Hot Stone treatment please choose the Hot Stone Medley option.
Guasha/Fascial Scraping
The therapist uses a stainless steel tool with beveled edges, and applies it across targeted areas of skin, myofascia, muscles and tendons to effectively break down fascial restrictions and scar tissue.
Cupping
Cupping uses suction to direct blood flow towards a targeted area of soft tissue. It also stimulates the peripheral nervous system to alter and reduce feelings of pain within muscles. The therapist may use them either statically (in place) or dynamically (gliding across tissue). Cupping may reduce pain, boost the immune system and support the natural detoxing systems of the body.
